Just like sending an SMS from your phone, one SMS fragment is 160 characters. You can send an extended SMS which will use additional credits up to a maximum of 612 characters (by default within your FireText account).
Up to 160 characters = 1 credit
Up to 306 characters = 2 credits
Up to 459 characters = 3 credits
Up to 612 characters = 4 credits

The character limit for messages ft. Unicode characters (e.g. emojis)
The character limit is reduced to 70 characters per fragment for messages featuring Unicode characters, such as emojis, or Arabic or Chinese characters.
Up to 70 characters = 1 credit
Up to 132 characters = 2 credits
Up to 198 characters = 3 credits
Up to 264 characters = 4 credits
