Setting up 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is simple, and adds an extra login layer to your FireText account. Follow these steps to set it up in no time!
STEP 1: Go to the settings cog icon in the top right-hard corner of your account.
STEP 2: Click on the 2FA tab in the settings menu.
STEP 3: Now open/download your chosen authenticator app on your mobile device. You can use the Google Authenticator app (or a similar time-based One-Time Password app) to generate your 2FA code.
STEP 4: Follow the on-screen prompt in FireText to scan the QR code using your authenticator app. This links your account to the app.
STEP 5: Inside FireText, enter your password and input the new 2FA code generated by your authenticator app.
STEP 6: Click SAVE CHANGES to complete the setup and enable 2FA. Once 2FA is successfully verified and enabled, a unique Rescue Key will be provided to you only once. Make sure you safely store this key.
